2012 Audition Workshops

Children's Musical Theatre's

Audition Workshops

at the Bartlesville Community Center Studio Theater.

Kids in grades 2 through 10 can audition for CMT summer musicals.  Audition appointments for Willy Wonka  are currently being scheduled through this website or by calling 918-336-0558.  Rehearsals begin June 11 and run for 5 weeks, culminating in performances on July 12, 13, 14 and 15, 2012.  There is no fee to audition and no tuition charged when cast in a CMT summer musical.  Cast members are expeced to participate heavily in fundraising events to support the cost of producing the show.

Workshop 1 - Saturday, January 28, 10 am-12 noon:

Geared toward first-time auditioners, and those who have auditioned in the past and not received a role, this popular auditon workshop guides attendees through the audition process.  Kids play theater games and get important tips for a successful audition.  This workshop is a wonderful introduction to musical auditions and gives a taste of what to expect if a role in a CMT summer musical is accepted.  The workshop can be very helpful for those that are not sure if they want to audition, kids new to auditioning, and for those wanting to have a better audition than last year.  This workshop is for kids currently in grades 2 through 10.

COST:  $5 paid at the door.   Registration at the door starting at 9:30 am.

Workshop 2 - Saturday, January 28, 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm:

Geared toward advanced auditioners who are familier with the auditon process and want to know how to be more successful in audition callbacks, this informal talk-back session with CMT Executive Director, Tracye Caughell, will explore factors which catch the eye of casting directors, both positively and negatively.  Discussion will give insight into what casting directors are looking for, what things turn them off, and what you can do to improve callback results.  Even if you are not auditioning for Willy Wonka, this session is applicable to other auditions with a variety of organizations.  Come glean the info from over 10 years of observation of the casting process.  This workshop is for kids in 6th through 12th grade who are familiar with the audition process.

COST:   $5 paid at the door.   No advance registration required
