Board Concerned About Capital Campaign
Recession concerns and decreased charitable giving has the board of Children’s Musical Theatre worried about CMT’s first-ever capital campaign fundraising effort. “This wonderful opportunity for CMT has risen during a difficult economic time,” said Denis Doe, CMT Treasurer and Capital Campaign Committee Chairman. “It may take us a little longer to reach our goal, but the prospect of acquiring this building for only $43 a square foot is something we don’t want to lose.”
The 11,200 square foot building, located at Wyandotte and Hensley, has ample space for CMT to grow into the future. This facility will have offices, a set construction workshop, 3 rehearsal
spaces, costume shop, dressing rooms and a loading dock. By consolidating office, storage, and practice spaces into one building, CMT can offer more classes and programs throughout the year.
How does the $480,000 Capital Campaign goal break down? $280,000 for building purchase, remodeling, furniture and operational expenses; $200,000 to secure the future by adding to CMT’s endowment fund. This breaks down to $43 per square foot—a bargain for this community and its children.
Please keep the CMT Capital Campaign at the top of your charitable giving priorities over the coming year. Send your tax deductible donations with “Capital Campaign” indicated on the memo line of your check. Thank You!
